Coach
David is NOT a lifelong athlete; his winning record in high school wrestling is entirely due to the dearth of competitors in the 103lb weight division in his state. He first tried CrossFit over 15 years ago after deciding he needed to get in shape and searching online for the most intense workout he could find – despite years of sedentary behavior. Luckily for him, CrossFit is infinitely scalable and accessible for everyone who walks in the door. Since that first workout, he has gained a lifelong passion for movement and firmly believes that the benefits of physical activity extend far beyond getting stronger, faster and looking better; it literally improves every aspect of one’s physical, mental and social life.
David’s focus in coaching is on proper movement technique and helping athletes move safely and efficiently. He is all about building a community that works hard together, has fun together and celebrates each other’s little successes everyday in the gym and outside of it.
When he isn’t working out or coaching, David enjoys following Philadelphia sports teams, telling dad jokes to his two children and is an avid Trekkie, Star Wars fan and True Believer (all things Marvel comics). He is also currently working on a graduate degree in Philosophy at The New School.
